KVK RI-BHOI ORGANIZED SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING ON “Mushroom Grower – Small Entrepreneur” UNDER ASCI
The KVK Ri-Bhoi has successfully trained twenty youths and farmers from Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya on skill development qualification pack “Mushroom Grower – Small Entrepreneur”. This programme under Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) was started on 22nd February, 2017 and the final assessment was done by independent assessor on 22nd March, 2017. During this month long training progarmme, common norms of ASCI was properly followed for 200 hours with approved training schedule. Training was done on three modules viz. theory, practical and assessment. Under theory and practical detailed techniques of site selection, methods of construction of mushroom house, preparation of substrate to harvesting of mushroom, plant protection, post harvest management, marketing, record keeping and SHG mobilization were thoroughly discussed. During the course of the programme, practical demonstrations were conducted and exposure visits to reputed farms were undertaken. The training programme ended with assessment of trainees and subsequently the qualified trainees will be awarded with certificates in due course of time by ASCI. The post training placement monitoring is under progress through Mrs. Mousumi Gohain Das, SMS Plant Protection of the KVK Ri-Bhoi, Chief Trainer of the programme.
